Lasting power of attorney
What is power of attorney?
There are two types of LPA;
- Health and Welfare
- Property and Financial affairs
To be effective an LPA must be registered with the Office of Public Guardian (OPG). There is a registration fee of £82.
Our lasting power of attorney service
Using our professional Lasting Power of Attorney service provides peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
Why have an LPA?
There are lots of reasons and situations where an LPA can save your family and loved ones heartache and stress.
Going in to long-term care
If you or a loved one are going in to long-term care, then the care provider may want you to have an LPA.
Early onset of dementia
Many people with dementia will eventually reach a point where they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves. Protect them with an LPA.
Planning for the future
Preparing an LPA can start discussions with your family about what you want to happen in the future. It’s not easy, but it’s better to talk about it before you find yourself in a difficult situation.
None of us know what will happen tomorrow. If you were to suffer a serious accident that rendered you unable to make decisions, an LPA would enable your loved ones to make those decisions for you.
Serious illness can strike at any age. An LPA enables your loved ones to make decisions on your behalf if you were no longer able to make those for yourself.
